How to: Add a Variable Field to My Campaign

1. Navigate to the location in your letter that you would like to add your variable
   
   
2. On the right hand properties panel, scroll down until you reach the “Your Variable Data Fields” section as shown below:
   
   
   
3. Place your cursor in your copy where the variable field should be placed
   
   
4. Select the variable you want to insert from the list of variables on the right, then select Insert Variable. If placed properly, your variable should appear as shown in the sample below:
   
   
   
5. With the element box still active, scroll down to Variable Tools on the right-hand properties dialog, then click the checkbox that says “Selected frame contains variable”
   
   
   Note: Only processes Step 5 after you have added all Variable Fields to your element and made all copy changes needed. If you need to make changes later, then ensure to de-select this box to update your copy, then re-select it when finished to ensure your Variable Fields carry over.
   
   
6. Repeat steps 1- 4 for all locations where you would like to add a variable field. If you are using a new text element, then continue onto step 5. Step 5 is only applied to elements which did not previously contain a variable field.
